What has been happening over the years...
We would like to invite our supporters, old and new, in giving a hand for TEDxLeicester’s 5th Birthday.
It has been a long and fulfilling journey in bringing people together and giving a voice and platform to those passionate about positive change.
Join us in reminiscing this journey in a look back at all the events that make TEDxLeicester what it is today:
TedxLeicester was born under the patronage and oversight of Alan Hayes who truly saw the importance of the TED mission in delivering ideas worth sharing. TedxLeicester has continued to blaze a path for creative and critical thinking under its new torchbearer and license-holder, Siddhi Trivedi, who continues to support the volunteers in their journey of creating a community accessible for all.
An exploration of different journeys, paths and decisions, where each one is as important as the other. From the discovery of kings to the exploration of dance and song. No journey too small to undertake.
TedxLeicester has always strived for innovative approaches in the areas of technology, entertainment and design as well as tackling issues of social importance on both local and global scales. This event was a look into challenging perceptions and giving all individuals a chance at redemption and success. CJ Burge’s testimonial shows the struggles of finding employment for ex-offenders.
TEDxLeicester’s first event to be held at the National Space Centre Leicester titled: 'TEDxLeicester One Step Beyond: A Satellite Enabled Future' explores how satellite technology and data is being applied to innovatively solve problems for businesses and the community to take us one step beyond into the future.
7 local events exploring migrants and their stories around the world. Italy, Germany, England and Spain working together to highlight the global refugee crisis and the issues surrounding migration.
This TEDxLeicesterSalon gives people a chance to hear about fantastic examples of social impact brought about via the power of art and creativity. Guest speakers will highlight their ideas and visions of how creativity can be a vehicle for change in our communities.
We’ll be taking a closer look at the role that technology plays in our everyday interactions with the world around us; our cities, communities and relationships. What are the opportunities? What role does technology have in improving our society? What traps should we avoid?
A blend of past and present, stories and reminiscing, delivered through poetry, music and speech. This event brought a rich mix of testimonials and experiences from people who came from all walks of life, celebrating what is at the core of Leicester’s identity: Multiculturalism.
In 2019 we hosted an event centred around powerful women and their experience in navigating society. Rather than succumbing to the power of prejudice and stereotype, we are reminded that we forge our own destiny and reputation.
We've events and more planned in the future, sign up here to hear about them first.
