About TEDx

x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

TEDxLeicester

TEDxLeicester is an entirely not-for-profit and volunteer-led initiative, organised by local people with a passion for sharing great ideas and what the TEDx movement can do to help drive and sustain improvements for people and places.  TEDx licences are issued to organisers of events in towns and cities around the world; like TEDxLeicester, all of them must be not-for-profit to comply with TEDx rules and regulations.

TEDx: A Volunteer Endeavour

Volunteering opportunities to get involved in organising and supporting our events will be advertised on our website through our ‘News’ section; please do look out for updates.  All volunteers are requested to sign-up to the TEDx standard agreement available for download here.
